Sickies!

It seems my life is not complete without medical drama. Alia has been having some stomach issues, mainly stabbing pain and cramping. The quick-dip test came up urinary tract infection, and the doctor wondered if she had salmonella. He took a stool sample and sent the test off. That was Friday.
In between then and now, Alia has been fine -- except after eating -- then she is doubled in pain, sweating, flustered and either feeling nauseated or having diarrhea. She gets really scared. It is all over her face. Then, she is fine again. Jumping, playing...her usual self. Then, the time comes to eat, and she doesn't want to because she knows what will follow. At some point, she is starving and has to eat at which point the pains begin again.
Jump to now. Today. The doctor called. No salmonella. No UTI. He scheduled her to see a gastroenterologist (mouthful!). The g/e can't get her in until two weeks. Hopefully it is just a bug, and she will be fine before that appointment ever comes. I think she tolerated food much better today than yesterday so I am hopeful.
